# Account and security

> Manage your profile, sign-in methods, sessions, and account deletion.

The Account page is the records desk.

## Profile

Profile shows your name, email address, avatar initials, and member-since date.

You can edit your display name inline.

Email changes depend on the deployment. If email verification is not configured, the app explains the limitation before allowing a change.

## Security

If your account has a password, Security lets you change it.

The password form checks:

* current password is present
* new password has at least 8 characters
* confirmation matches
* new password differs from the current one

The **Sign out my other devices** switch is on by default. When enabled, every other session is revoked after the password changes.

If you signed up only through a social provider, there may be no password on file.

## Connected accounts

Connected accounts lists external sign-in providers such as Google, GitHub, and X.

You can connect configured providers and disconnect linked ones. The app will not let you remove your last sign-in method.

## Sessions

Sessions lists every active device. It shows the device, approximate IP label, and sign-in time.

You can:

* revoke one session
* sign out everywhere else

The current device stays signed in when you revoke other sessions.

## Delete account

The Danger Zone permanently deletes your account.

It removes:

* profile
* sign-in methods
* preferences
* subscription record
* generated papers
* daily schedule at the press

The confirmation dialog requires typing `DELETE`. This cannot be undone.
