# Billing and plans

> Understand plans, build limits, archives, card billing, and crypto credit.

Billing shows your effective plan, payment status, plan limits, payment rails, and receipts.

## Plans

| Plan      | Builds      | Desks | Curation          | Archive      |
| --------- | ----------- | ----- | ----------------- | ------------ |
| Newsstand | 1 per week  | 3     | Standard ranking  | 7 days       |
| Reader    | 14 per week | 12    | Custom curation   | 30 days      |
| Publisher | 35 per week | 12    | Top-tier curation | Full archive |

Publisher also includes the daily column, engine choice when enabled, and priority builds.

## Effective plan

Your effective plan can come from card billing, crypto credit, or both. The app uses the highest active tier.

If you have an active Reader card subscription and Publisher crypto credit, the app treats you as Publisher until the crypto credit ends.

## Card billing

Card subscriptions use Stripe. The billing portal handles:

* invoices
* receipts
* payment method changes
* cancellation
* plan changes for an active subscription

If you cancel, your paper keeps printing through the period you already paid for.

## Crypto credit

Crypto payments use Coinbase Commerce when configured.

A crypto purchase adds 365 days of Reader or Publisher credit. It is not a subscription and does not renew automatically. Additional purchases stack on top of existing credit.

## When billing is not configured

Some deployments run without Stripe or Coinbase keys. In that case the app shows a house-plan state and no live checkout buttons.
